Work has completed on architect Piercy&Company’s new building, Turnmill, for developer Derwent London. The building sits on a prominent corner site in London’s Clerkenwell Green Conservation Area and provides over 70,500 sq ft of high-quality office space with two large restaurant units on the ground floor and basement.
J&P Building Systems supplied Isopro and Rapidobat Cretcon products to Henry Construction Projects Limited on the Turnmill project. The Isopro provides a thermal break to a precast concrete corbel, spanning the building perimeter at each floor level.
H-BAU ISOPRO® provides thermally insulated, connections for concrete balconies and walkways to meet part L of the building regulations. Available with up to 120 min. fire protection, the ISOPRO® thermal break system has an 80mm thickness of insulation, and is the most commonly used system to prevent cold bridging.
As a load-bearing thermal insulation unit, ISOPRO® undertakes the following functions:
- Thermal separation of reinforced concrete components to resolve structural problems at the transition between internal and external components
- Frictional connection of the reinforced concrete components across the insulating joint.
H-BAU Rapidobat® is a disposable column formwork system that speeds construction and enables very high-quality concrete finishes to be achieved. Manufactured from recyclable materials and available in a range of shapes and finishes.
